Tom Savini on yhdysvaltalainen elokuva-alan monitoimimies, joka aloitti erikoisefektien parissa  ja laajensi sittemmin repertuaariaan stunt-töihin, näyttelijäksi ja ohjaajaksikin. Savini teki ohjaaja George A. Romeron kauhuelokuvien parissa valloittavaa ja uraauurtavaa työtä käytännöllisten erikoisefektien saralla (mm. Martin, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Creepshow ja Monkey Shines). Lisäksi monien tunnettujen ja merkittävien slasher-elokuvien efektit ovat hänen työtään (mm. Maniac, The Burning, The Prowler ja Friday the 13th, osat I & 2).

 Tom Savini is an American jack-of-all-trades in the film industry having started his career doing special effects work and stunt work for many George A. Romero’s films (Martin, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Creepshow and Monkey Shines). He has also further pioneered the field of special effects, prosthetics and make-up effects in many quite notable slasher films (such as Maniac, The Burning, The Prowler and Friday the 13th, parts 1 & 2)
