Sigourney Weaver

siggieFinland Sigourney Weaver on yhdysvaltalainen näyttelijätär, joka nousi maailmankuuluksi elokuvanäyttelijäksi ensimmäisessä pääroolielokuvassaan, Ridley Scottin ohjaamassa elokuvassa Alien (1979)[x]. Toisen elokuvassa esiintyjän näyttelijän, Veronica Cartwrightin, piti alun pitäen esittää elokuvan ikoniseksi noussutta päähahmoa Ellen Ripleytä, mutta aivan viime hetkillä (elokuvan lavasterakenteiden rakennustöiden jo alettua) rooli päätettiinkin antaa Weaverille, joka oli vasta viimeisenä elokuvaan kiinnitetty näyttelijä ja jonka rooliksi suunniteltiin Lambertin roolia (joka annettiin Cartwrightille; kertomatta siitä hänelle ennen kuin vasta kuvauspaikalla!). Weaverillä oli Broadway -taustaa ja hän menestyi hyvin muissakin lajityypeissä, mutta kiinnostus tieteiselokuviin on täplittänyt Weaverin uraa aina näihin päiviin asti. Siinä missä monet muut yhdysvaltalaiset näyttelijättäret pitävät tieteis- ja kauhuelokuvia vain ponnistuslautana ”oikeiden” elokuvien pariin, Weaver on ansainnut itselleen lisänimen ”Sci-fi Queen” hänen lukuisten – yli viidelle vuosikymmenelle sijoittuvien – muistettavien tieteiselokuvarooliensa vuoksi.

United-Kingdom Sigourney Weaver is an actress from the United States who rose to world fame in her first main role in Ridley Scott’s science fiction/horror hybrid movie Alien (1979)[x]. Another actress appearing in the film, Veronica Cartwright, was initially slated to be acting the role of the iconic Ellen Ripley. At the final moments (when the building of the movie’s sets were already under way), however, the main role was given to Sigourney Weaver who was the last actor cast into the film and whose casting took place among the chaos of the set building. Cartwright was not even informed about the change until she arrived to the filming location. Weaver already had experience in the Broadway and succeeded well in other film genres but has returned to acting in science fiction films over and over again spanning five decades. Many other actresses only consider horror and science fiction films to only act as stepping boards into the world of ”real” movies but Sigourney has voluntarily returned to the genre time and again showing she truly has earned her nickname ”Sci-fi Queen”.

Outland (1981)

Espanjalainen aulajulisteiden sarja. Ohuehkoa julistepaperia. Tarkkaan katsoessa voi nähdä, miten nimitietoihin on tehty tuplapainatus: ilmeisesti englanninkielinen nimi piti saada peittoon.

A lobby card set from Spain. Pretty thin poster paper. A careful examination let’s one see how some of the tags have double printing: apparently the original name had to be masked out of the way of the Spanish one.

Grindhouse (2007)

Japanilainen nelisivuinen aukeamajuliste molemmista Grindhouse-kokonaisuuden elokuvista Death Proof ja Planet Terror. Skannattuna julisteen neljä sivua sekä aukeaman takasivu (tosin hieman reunasta vajavaisena). A four-page movie leaflet/poster from Japan. Contains material from both of the movies – Death Proof and Planet Terror – that make up the Grindhouse. Scanned all the four pages of leaflet and the back side of the leaflet (although the backside scans is slightly clipped from the left side).
